Dr Lydia Meredith
Dr Lydia Meredith worked as a general dentist for several years in NZ before deciding to specialise in Orthodontics. After completing her specialist training in Dunedin, she opened her own practice there, Dunedin Orthodontics, which she ran very successfully for a number of years. With most of her immediate family still living in Christchurch, she and her husband decided to sell her Dunedin practice and move back to her home town of Christchurch where they have now settled down on a lifestyle block just out of town.
Lydia's patients enjoy a fun and friendly atmosphere where she provides the most up to date, evidence-based orthodontic treatment. She prides herself on her eye for detail, striving for the most beautiful smile in every patient as she knows what a big difference those final subtle changes can make. Lydia focuses on patient-centred care offering advice and options tailored specifically to peoples individual needs.
Lydia is a member of the NZDA (New Zealand Dental Association), NZAO (New Zealand Association of Orthodontics), as well as both the AAO (Americian Association of Orthodontics) and WFO (World Federation of Orthodontics). She has previously held the position of secretary of NZAO and is continuously updating her orthodontic knowledge and education via international courses and lectures.
Outside of work, Lydia is a keen horse rider, still actively competing most weekends, and when she’s not tied up with work or horses, her family life with an energetic toddler and jobs on their lifestyle block keep her and the whole family busy.
Lydia loves getting to know her patients and their families well and really looks forward to meeting you all soon!
